Cool Off With the Hottest Ice Cream Trends of 2016

There's nothing better than a refreshing, delicious ice cream cup on a hot summer day. After all, June is the month that most ice cream is produced. But this summer, 90% of U.S. households that consume ice cream on a regular basis will certainly have something to scream about! Check out these 2016 ice cream trends that will be the talk of the ice cream truck:

Hangover-Curing Ice Cream
A convenience store in South Korea has released the Gyeondyo-bar, which translates to "hang in there." The Gyoendyo-bar is the first of its kind, made specifically to alleviate the uncomfortable aftereffects of drinking. South Korea is considered the highest alcohol-consuming country in Asia with a booming hangover cure industry that brings in roughly $126 million in revenue per year. The ice cream treat is grapefruit-flavored and contains 0.7% of oriental raisin tree fruit juice, an ancient Korean hangover remedy that dates back to the 17th century.

Black Ice Cream
If you've been following the foodie trends of 2016 closely, you'll know that it's been an exhaustingly multicolored year. From rainbow grilled cheese to rainbow bread products, it seems that everything is a technicolor feast these days. However, Nick Morgenstern of Morgenstern's finest ice cream has rejected this trend entirely with his new, jet black ice cream. The ice cream has a rich coconut flavor and is colored using coconut ash. Now that's a rather dark way to brighten someone's summer day!

CoNuts
Forget the traditional ice cream spoons or cups! Introducing the CoNuts: an ice cream cone made from a delectable fried donut. These delicious handheld delights actually originated in Hungary, and are just taking the U.S. by storm. Talk about hungry!

What do you think of these wild new ice cream trends? While they may sound exciting, nothing hits the spot better than an ice cream cup full of your favorite classic flavor.
